Part of my goal since starting this oily journey has been to become even more intentional with the products that I use in life. Choosing REAL household products that aren’t filled with toxins is something that has become SO important to us in the past three years. I want to know exactly what goes into my body, be aware of what I breathe in, what I use on my skin, etc.

Over the past few years, I’ve began to overhaul our eating habits (slowly, but surely), drinking habits (getting rid of soda!!! but I still can’t say no to coffee–just being real here), household products (getting rid of products containing scary things, changing our laundry detergents & using wool dryer balls instead of dryer sheets + cleaning products), body products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash getting rid of lotions, etc), and even saying goodbye to candles & wallflowers (and saying HELLO to #allthediffusers!) and the whole point of this post is– even overhauling my MAKEUP!

It was the last thing I thought of last year, and I’m sure something most people don’t even think of. Our skin is our largest organ and absolutely absorbs everything we put on it, so while I was making an effort to get rid of toxins in other areas of life, I was continuing to put scary things right on my face!

This is why I was SO excited when Young Living launched their makeup line this summer! I’ve officially kicked out drugstore and designer makeup from my makeup back and instead sought out natural, organic makeup brands that I could actually read the ingredients! My skin has been way happier & healthier!!

Common toxins found in makeup include: Parabens, Talc, Bismuth, Synthetic Dyes, Fragrance, and Petroleum byproducts. All of these are known carcinogens (meaning known to increase likelihood of cancer in the body.) hormone disruptors, and skin irritants.

Thankfully Savvy Minerals contains NONE of those ingredients 🙌
