It’s Wednesday! Which means I get to share another beautiful wedding with you all today! Jake and Johnnie got married on a gorgeous day in Muscatine Iowa. Johnnie got ready with her closest friends at her childhood home, and the two celebrated their marriage at the Geneva Country Club. At the time of their engagement session, I got to hear the story of how Jake & Johnnie met. Here’s what Johnnie said:
“Jake and Johnnie met in the spring of their freshman year of college. One of Jake’s football coaches heckled Jake that he should ask Johnnie out for coffee throughout the semester, but Jake was shy about it for the longest time. In the mean time, Jake’s coach would tell Johnnie, who happened to be a student assistant for the Iowa State Football program, about Jake and how they would be a good match. Jake would see Johnnie around campus and thought she was way out of his league. They had a class together second semester and although both of them knew of each other, the two didn’t talk until the end of the school year. Jake waited at Arby’s agonizing over Johnnie’s text response to his question of if she would go to coffee with him, and Johnnie, unaware of how Jake’s heart was on the line, declined the offer! Whoops! Summer went by and the two saw each other again at the football complex the following fall. They ended up seeing each other after a football game and pretty much immediately knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with each other.”
