Sometimes (okay, basically all the time) I get into this habit of only showing the highs of marriage.
I mean, marriage is a high right? It’s romantic. It’s so fun. It’s an adventure. It’s such a peek into how much God loves us.
But it’s also insanely HARD. And sometimes it’s filled with TONS of lows. It’s sacrificial. It shines a big ol’ spotlight on all the sin that you each struggle with.
And I just felt like that should be talked about tonight. Because I so often share about how stinking incredible of a husband I have, I feel like I give people the false idea that our marriage is perfect.
Hint: It’s not perfect y’all. Not in the slightest.
Last night we fought about a dang smoothie.
And during this portrait session for our 4th anniversary? We actually fought about the correct way to “spin” me for a couple photos. #awkward… (Thanks for being our friends anyway Duvicks )
But it IS worth fighting for. It’s worth working on daily. It’s worth trudging through valleys, even when you don’t feel like it.
Marriage has shaped me, helped me grow, and revealed the Father’s heart to me more than any other experience in my life and I am so thankful for those highs AND those lows.
