Today Tyand I submitted the initial application to become foster parents.
You see, there are, at any given time, 4,000-6,000 children in the foster care system in Iowa.
There are 2,000-2,300 families who are certified to be foster parents, (all who have stipulations on what works with their families when caring for children, meaning they can’t take in every child that is in the foster care system).
And there are close to 5,000 churches.
God says that pure and genuine religion in the sight of Him the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress. And so, after over a year of this being on our hearts, here we are.
There are still many steps (several months worth) that need to happen before there are any child(ren) placed in our home, but we are excited, we’re nervous, and we’re expectant. Expectant for God to use us, however He pleases through this journey to bring Him glory.
So we ask for your prayers, your good thoughts, your cheering, whatever you feel comfortable with.
