It’s funny. I would have never guessed that I would ever say this, but I am so glad to be back to a normal blogging routine. I don’t know if it’s necessarily the blogging part, but it’s nice to have this feeling of normalcy, even though things aren’t really back to normal yet after my whirlwind July. As promised, I wanted to give you guys the scoop on my trip to North Carolina. Not only was it great saving myself from being burnt out, but I had a blast hanging out with my family who I rarely get to see! I had so much fun that I’m secretly hoping I can talk Tyler into letting me take a trip out again this winter ๐
As always, I will share a few highlights from the trip!
- I’m not sure if this counts as a highlight, but the minute we landed in New Bern, I got a not- so-fun warning on my iPhone. Hurricane Arthur was making its way up the coast and headed right for us. Funny thing was I had experienced my first hurricane (Hurricane Ernesto) on our honeymoon less than two years prior. Thankfully, the hurricane passed quickly and we were all safe and sound.
- We spent a day at the outlet malls where I got to finally spend my giftcard from JCrew that I received at Christmas. I am so glad I hung onto it because JCrew Factory rocks!!
- Later that night, we got to see my cousin, Zach race. So loud, but so fun!
- My grandma, aunt, and I had a girls day filled with pedicures and manicures. It’s so nice to be pampered!
- My uncle sent all the ladies flowers. They were so beautiful and it was such a great surprise!
- We got to be in town for Zach’s 21st birthday! I am so glad we were there to help him celebrate! We spent the day on the boat, ( I got fried because I am so pale this year) and then later played corn-hole and ate a lot of snacks.
- Actually, we played corn-hole so much. I suck, but it’s still fun.
- I got to tag along to Busco Beach (which actually isn’t a beach, it’s an ATV park) with Zach and his fun friends. I’ve never been so muddy in my life, but it was so.much.fun.
- We played several games of Phase 10. I won once. Beginners luck they say.
- I shot my 4th roll of film. Other than photos with my iPhone I exclusively used my film camera. I finally felt comfortable enough to send it to a lab, too! ย So inspiring!
(All of these photos are straight from FilmBox with no additional processing!!)
It was so great being able to hang out with family and take time off of work. I am so thankful Zach let me tag along with him and his friends. I felt like a little siblingย that your mom makes you bring along with you, even though I am older than Zach. (haha!) But they made me feel welcome, and sad that I had to leave!
